A Water Fountain Your Kitty Cat Will Appreciate

Is your cat enticed by the sound of running water in the sink? Does he drink from the toilet or check the water in his bowl before trying it? Strange as these behaviors appear, they actually show a cat’s natural instinct to avoid still standing water. In most cases, they will not seek out much water to drink. a_542__60507.jpg

Untamed cats get enough moisture from the meat they eat. Therefore, felines never developed the impulse to drink water. Pet cats, however, depend on you for their water, as they do not get the enough hydration from their foods. With a cat fountain, you know your cat has enough water available.

It will have plenty of clean water if you put one in your yard. Fountains come in various shapes and sizes, so be sure to buy one that best fits the needs of your cat. There are fountains that always have continual flowing clean water while others have a basin which refills as your pet cat drinks from it.

Why Your Your Furry Friends and Flying Visitors Relish Water Features

Putting in an outdoor water fountain or a bird feeder will allow you to delight in the natural presence of wildlife or pets. The truth is that birds need water to: drink, bathe and preen. Robins, thrushes, orioles and warblers, though not attracted to bird feeders, are instead drawn to the movement of water created by fountains. While bowl-shaped bird baths can be unexciting to many birds, fountains are more enticing because of the moving water they generate. Birds are greatly attracted to the trickling and splashing sounds produced.

Dogs love fountains because they provide another place to drink water. During scorching months of summer, cats and dogs will be outdoors for the absolute freshest water around. Constantly flowing water is also going to require much less cleaning than a still bowl of water from a birdbath, which collects debris.

Alluring Garden Multi-Level Water Fountains

Fountains with multiple levels can be found just about anywhere and have been displayed in gardens for many years. The nations in the southern part of Europe tend to have a lot of these types of fountains. While they can be found anywhere, they are most prevalent in the center of building complexes and in popular areas where people get together. Beautiful carvings can be found on some of the most sophisticated tiered fountains, while others have much simpler designs.

People love to showcase them in areas having a classic look and feel. The fountain should seem as old as the rest of the decor and fit in accordingly.

The Eye-Catching Cascade Water Fountain at Chatsworth Garden

The Cascade garden fountain provides a spectacular focal point to the landscape and is located at the back of Chatsworth House. For 200 yards towards the dwelling is a series of 24 irregularly positioned stone steps stretching down the hillside. The Cascade, also totally gravity fed, is founded on a 17th century French concept. This water fountain has been kept the same after being designed for the first Duke of Devonshire in 1696. The Cascade House stands at the peak of the fountain where water flows downward. The building, embellished on the outside with sea creatures in bas-relief, is a small-scale building. Water pressure to the Cascade can be boosted on special instances, causing the Cascade House to become a part of the Cascade spectacle, as water flows through conduits on its rooftop and from the jaws of its carved underwater creatures, before proceeding down the Cascade. The sound of the water falling varies as it falls down the Cascades because of the slight variance in the size of each step thereby delivering a great and calming complement to a walking through the gardens. This cascade was chosen in a survey, carried out by Country Life in 2004, as England'sbest water feature.
