The Famous Revelation Water Fountain at the Gardens of Chatsworth

twf024-ac__37720.jpg Designed by well-known British sculptor Angela Conner, Revelation is the latest addition to the Chatsworth decorative exterior water fountains. In 2004/2005 she was commissioned by the now deceased 11th Duke of Devonshire to design a limited edition bust of Queen Elizabeth, in brass and steel, for the Queen’s 80th birthday bash. Jack Pond, one of Chatsworth’s oldest ponds, had “Revelation” installed in 1999. The four large steel petals open and close with the flow of water, alternately concealing and showing a golden globe at the sculpture’s center. A gold dust decorated metal globe was manufactured and included into the prominent sculpture standing five meters high and five meters wide. This latest water fountain is an exciting and interesting addition to the Gardens of Chatsworth, unique in that the motion of the petals is totally powered by water.

An Introduction to Self-Contained Backyard Fountains

Self-Contained fountains are economical and quick to install and are therefore quite common. Since all pieces are included with the fountain, no additional parts are required. Another name for a fountain having its own water source is referred to as “self-contained”.

Stand-alone water fountains are rather easy to install making them the best option for your patio or veranda. They are also not difficult to transport from place to place.

Once you decide where you want to set upyour fountain, your landscaper should verify that it is not too bumpy or uneven.

Lawns and gardens tend to be lumpy so your landscaper will have to level the spot where you want to put it. You are now set to install your water feature and fill it with water. The only thing remaining to do is to connect it to a power source such as batteries, a wall socket, or a solar panel, and it will be operational.

Many fountain owners want them to be the focal point of their yards and position them right in the center, although they can certainly go anywhere in the garden. There is a variety of materials that can be used to craft them including cast stone, metal, ceramic, and fiberglass.
