How Water Features Add to Your Well-Being

Any setting can be enhanced by the sights, sounds and improved air quality produced by outdoor fountains. Along with the many health benefits they provide, they also create an ambiance which your friends and family will enjoy. That said, once you put in your fountain you will likely take note of the myriad benefits it provides to only you. It might take you back to a special time or place you fondly remember. You might fondly recall someone unforgettable when you look at it. It could also be turned into a memorial to pay your respects to someone already deceased. In any case, it is something you will look fondly on for many years to come.

Self-Contained Water Elements: Are They Useful?

People appreciate contained fountains for their easy installation and low cost. Since all components are included with the fountain, no additional parts are required. There is another use for the term “self-contained”, a reference to a fountain that has its own water reservoir.

Given that they do not require much work to install, self-contained fountains are perfect for patios and porches. They are easily transportable too in case you later choose to move it somewhere else.

The place you want to put your fountain will need to be even, so your landscaper will need to first decide if this is the case. Do not worry if the land is not level, your landscaper can always even it out. The following step is to put your water feature in place and add some water.

Last but not least, connect it to a solar panel, a wall socket, or batteries, and it will be good to go.

Anyone who does not have direct access to a wellspring or external plumbing should consider a self-contained fountain. While a fountain can be a focal point anywhere in a garden, many people put them in the center. You will find them in many different materials such as cast stone, metal, ceramic, and fiberglass.

Water-lifting System by Camillo Agrippa

Regrettably, Agrippa’s excellent design for lifting water wasn’t mentioned a lot following 1588, when Andrea Bacci acclaimed it publicly. It could perhaps be that in 1592 when Rome’s most recent aqueduct, the Acqua Felice, set about supplying the Villa Medici, there was no longer much need for the device. Even though its glory was short lived, Camillo Agrippa’s layout for raising water was the wonder of its day, transcending everything built in Italy since the days of classic Rome.

Renaissance landscapes of the late 16th century happened to be home to works like music fountains, scenographic water exhibits and water caprices (giochi d’acqua), but these weren’t filled with water in ways that defied gravity itself.
